On the second day of the 10th International Conference on Management of Technology and Innovation, Professor Mammo Muchie, DST/NRF Research Professor on STI4D at the Tshwane University of Technology, talked about the management of innovation in the face of crisis.
As an African faculty member, he referred to some major crises in Africa which have not yet been responded to. He believed that the local knowledge of Africans can serve as a solution for many challenges and crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, faced by Africans.
Mammo also put a high value on redefining the innovation concept in response to the global challenges, especially in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era. He finally mentioned the role of innovation and entrepreneurship systems in the development of societies like the countries in Africa.
