The 14th ASIALICS International Conference (ASIALICS 2017) & 7th International Conference on Management of Technology (IRAMOT2017) was held on August 29-31, 2017 with the theme of “Technological Learning, Innovation and Catching-up in the context of International Collaboration” in Tehran, Iran with the precious presence of world leading representatives from industry, academia and policy-makers in the fields of Innovation and Technology Management from different countries and also more than 400 participants.
The first day of the conference (The opening of the IRAMOT conference) began with keynote speech of Dr. Manouchehr Mantegh (IRAMOT Conference Chairman and Head of Iranian Association for Management of Technology), Dr. Abbas AliAbadi (CEO and Chairman of MAPNA Group) and Dr. Ali Maleki (Assistant Professor in Sharif University of Technology).And then, more specialized panels were held simultaneously by different national organizations and companies which these national panels were as follows:

Expert Panel 2: Institutions and economic complexity in Iranian industry
Expert Panel 3: The Role of Standardization in Technological Catch-up
Expert Panel 4: Social Innovation, the New Approach for Fulfilling Needs and Facing the Complex Challenges of Society
Expert Panel 5: Open Innovation, Experience of Shenasa Company and the Innovation Centre of FANAP Company
Expert Panel 6: Iranian National Award on MOT (IRAMIT)
The opening of the ASIALICS conference and Second day of IRAMOT conference (30 August) began with the presentation of Dr. Ebrahim Souzanchi (Faculty Member at Sharif University of Technology)
Keynote subject: Sector or Firm: A Critical Review of Knowledge based Economy of Iran; and Prof. Patarapong Intarakumnerd (Head of Scientific Committee of the ASIALICS 2017) Keynote subject: Policy Supporting Innovation and Technology Upgrading in Firms: East Asian Experiences;
In the following, two specialized panels were organized by the Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science and National Research Institute for Science Policy of Iran and submitted papers were presented.
On the third day of conference (31 August), 18 submitted papers were presented and also two specialized panels were held by Iran’s Innovation and Prosperity Fund and Electronic Support Fund for Research and Development.
At the closing ceremony of the ASIALICS 2017 Conference, Prof. Kong-Rae Lee, one of the ASIALICS board member, announced about the next ASIALICS conference which will be held in the beautiful city of Hangzhou in China. At the end, four conference papers were selected by the scientific committee as the best papers in two different categories; best paper and best student paper awards.
